Kids Vs. Adults
What are the results?
We will be testing the effects of children's toothpaste and adult toothpaste on permanent teeth. It is very often that you will hear people talk about how children's toothpaste is better for your teeth, so we are here to figure it out ourselves! Once we have completed the experiment, we will put all of our data and results onto a trifold posterboard and will be asked to present it to an audience varying in age.
Nicole R. BradyMember 1I will be using the adult toothpaste in this experiment. Every week we will go into the lab and take progress pictures of my teeth. We will then test my teeth for plaque and then once again take pictures of my teeth.
Results: Nicole used the adult toothpaste in this experiment. She found that each week, her plaque was decreasing for a whopping 10% decrease. She experienced mild sensitivity due to the abrasiveness of the toothpaste. She would recommend this toothpaste to somebody who has a decent amount of calculus because of the abrasiveness. |
Emily R. MillerMember 2Emily will be using the children's toothpaste in the experiment. Every week we will go into the lab and do the same procedure on her teeth as we will on my own, and then the progress will be recorded for us both.
Results: Emily used the children's toothpaste in the experiment. She found that the children's toothpaste wasn't doing as well as the adult toothpaste which in the end led to approximately a 11% increase. She recommends letting children use this toothpaste due to the harmfulness of the adult toothpaste. |
